"HEALTHY EATING AND ACTIVE LIVING" AT ITS BEST!

Clarksdale young people have two fantastic opportunities to eat smart and be more active these days. Through a summer project at Clarksdale High School directed by HealthCorp teacher, Nathan Allen, teens are growing vegetables in their own hoop house and raised beds and selling some of it weekly at the Clarksdale Farmers Market.
Healthy Congregations, Rock River Foundation, the Coahoma Community Health Council and Clarksdale Garden Club have partnered to support this project. Information about the Clarksdale Farmers Market here: http://clarksdale.locallygrown.net/
The Mighty Quapaw, under
the mentorship of Quapaw Canoe Company owner John Ruskey, have the unique opportunity to gain the skills necessary to canoe the Mississippi River! Check
out Quapaw Canoe at http://www.island63.com
These
fortunate young people are well on their way to healthy lifestyles!
What
can you do to give kids in your community the chance to be healthier?
